A Scotsman’s Soulful Touch: Scott D’Arcy

At the heart of Kontoyianni Family Winery’s success is Scott D’Arcy, a Scotsman from Edinburgh. With a background in civil engineering and a master’s in project management focused on winemaking enterprises, Scott has infused the winery with a spirit of precision and innovation. His passion and expertise have brought a fresh perspective to the traditional winemaking process, helping the winery rise to new heights in recent years. Alongside his wife, Mary Kontoyianni, MSc, Scott plays a key role in shaping the winery’s direction.

A significant milestone in the winery’s history came in 2007, when Kontoyianni Family Winery first entered national and international wine competitions, and won. These recognition's proved to be a turning point, establishing Kontoyianni as a respected name on the wine stage and impressing both national and international judges with their expertly crafted wines.

Eugenia D’Arcy, MSc and Alexander D’Arcy, MEng, are eager to contribute their own skills and ideas to the family business.
